Gameday Game Recap:

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (9/08/10)-- Concordia conceded three goals in the first 24 minutes of their conference opener to Carleton and went on to lose 5-0 in Northfield on Wednesday. The loss snaps the Cobbers' 12-game unbeaten streak that dated back to Sept. 23 of last season.

Concordia had a chance to go on top early in the game but a goal off a corner kick was disallowed due to a CC foul. The Cobbers also had a couple of early chances from corners but couldn't find the back of the net.

Carleton then found space in front of the Concordia defense and was able to use their speed to make runs behind the back line. All four goals in the first half were due to the Knights' pace up front.

Carleton scored their final three goals in the first half in a span of 19 minutes and then added the fifth goal in the game just three minutes after the break.

Concordia will look to get back on track when they host the Cobber Invitational Tournament this weekend. CC will square off against Crown on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. and then face Central College on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. The game against Central will be played in Jake Christiansen Stadium on the new FieldTurf and will be the very first soccer game played in the stadium.
