JAMESTOWN, N.D. (10/16/08)-- Concordia scored three unanswered goals against Jamestown and cruised to a 4-1 win against the Jimmies on Wednesday in Jamestown. Abby Habein assisted on all four goals and Susan Obermiller scored twice to help the Cobbers post their 10th win of the season. That marks the sixth straight year that CC has won at least 10 games. Concordia is now 10-2-3 overall in 2008.

Obermiller scored the first two goals of the game for CC including the game winner at 28:59. She opened the scoring at 7:45. Habein picked up the lone assist on both of Obermiller's tallies. Obermiller now has four goals on the year and upped her point total to 13.

Jamestown's (0-14-2) lone goal of the game came at 10:45, just three minutes after the Cobbers had opened the scoring. Lisa Johnson was credited with the game-tying goal. The game would stay even for a little over 18 minutes when Obermiller struck for her second goal. Once again Habein picked up the lone assist. Megan Rice would finish off the scoring in the first half for CC when she netted her second goal of the season at 31:58. Habein and Maia Johnson were credited with the assists on the play.

Concordia would finish off the scoring in the game with under 10 minutes to play in the second half. Laura Frazier scored at 80:21 to push the final score to 4-1. Anne Boyd and Habein earned the assists. For Habein it was her fourth of the game and eighth of the season. It was Boyd's first collegiate point. Against the Jimmies Habein doubled her assist total for the year and improved her season point total by a fourth. Habein now has 12 points on the season and is the third member of the team to break the 10-point barrier for the year.

Concordia ended up outshooting Jamestown 22-4 for the game including 12-1 in the second half. The Cobbers also held a decided 15-4 edge in shots on goal. CC keeper Britt Reiersgord stopped three shots to record her ninth win of the year. The Jimmies split the goalie duties with Angela Veches getting the start and making three save. Trista Ludens entered at halftime and stopped eight shots.

The Cobbers will take advantage of the mid-semester break to travel to Illinois to take on regional foe Augustana on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. CC is currently ranked 10th in the latest NSCAA Central Region poll, while the Vikings hold down the No.7 spot.
