|Lewis Earns MIAC Weekly Honor|
MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/02/07)-- Concordia senior forward Rachel Lewis (Lakeville, Minn.) was named the MIAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week it was announced by the MIAC league office on Tuesday.
The award is the first time in her career that she has earned the weekly honor. She becomes the first Cobber player to win the award this season and first since Amy Ravenhorst was named Player of the Week on Oct. 10 of last year.
Lewis won the honor for scoring both the game-winning goals in the team’s 2-1 win over St. Kate’s and 3-0 victory over St. Mary’s.
She has been a major factor in the team's four-game winning streak that has pushed the Cobbers into second place in the MIAC standings. She currently has a four-game scoring streak.
For the season, Lewis has five goals for 10 points and is currently tied for the MIAC lead in game-winning goals. She is also tied for second in the MIAC in points in league games with eight.
