Men's Basketball
- Concordia sophomore John Fraase (Bismarck, N.D./Century HS) continued his stellar play for the Cobbers last week. In the team’s three games he averaged 18.0 points per game and 14.67 rebounds per game. He recorded three double-doubles and now has a streak of six straight games where he has had at least 10 points and 10 rebounds. Fraase currently leads the league in rebounding (12.3 rpg) and is third in scoring (16.6 ppg) in conference games.


Men's Basketball (6-7/3-5 MIAC - won at Macalester 68-51/

beat St. John's 62-59 )

- Concordia sophomore John Fraase (Bismarck, N.D./Century HS) continued his stellar play for the Cobbers last week. In the team’s three games he averaged 18.0 points per game and 14.67 rebounds per game. Fraase currently leads the league in rebounding (12.3 rpg) and is third in scoring (16.6 ppg) in conference games.

- The Cobbers have been on a tear from outside the 3-point arc in the last six games. Concordia has shot better than 43.0% in the last six games and has raised their 3-point shooting percentage to 36.6% in overall games and 41.7% in conference games. CC is currently second in the MIAC in 3-point percentage in MIAC games.

- Concordia first-year head coach Rich Glas now has 496 career wins. Glas is coaching in his 29th overall season in collegiate basketball and has a career record of 496-309.


Women's Basketball (8-4/7-2 MIAC - won at Macalester 62-54/

lost at St. Ben's 77-53/won at St. Mary's 82-56)

- Concordia sophomore guard Erica Nord (Wolverton, Minn./Barnesville HS) had a perfect game in the Cobbers’ 82-56 win over St. Mary’s on Sunday. Nord was 7-for-7 from the field, 4-for-4 from behind the arc and 5-for-5 from the free throw line. She scored a career-high 23 points.

- Cobber junior guard Sara Sorbo (Adams, N.D./Adams-Edmore HS) leads the league in steals in conference games. She is averaging 3.67 steals per game and has had at least two steals in every conference game this year. She had a career-high eight steals against St. Thomas on Dec. 3.

- Concordia shot 72.7% (16-for-22) from the field in the second half against St. Mary’s. For the game the Cobbers shot a season-high 58.7% (27-for-46) from the field. It was the highest shooting percentage in a single game since the 2004-05 season when CC shot 61.1% in the final game of the regular season. Concordia currently leads the MIAC in field goal percentage in conference games.


Men's Hockey (2-11-2/0-5-1 MIAC - lost to UW-River Falls 3-0 /

beat #5 UW-Stout 4-1)

- Concordia beat No.5-ranked UW-Stout 4-1 on Friday. It marked the first time that the Cobbers have beaten a ranked opponent since the 2005-06 season. The win was the second of the year for CC which is one more than they had in all of last year.

- Cobber junior Casey Olson (Rock Springs, Wyo.) had a goal and an assist in the win over Stout. He has had at least one assist in five of the team’s last eight games. He is third on the team in assists this season with six.

- In their win over nationally ranked UW-Stout, Concordia held the Blue Devils scoreless on their two power play attempts. CC has given up only one power play goal in the last six games and has killed 20 of the 21 man-advantage situations they have faced during that time.


Women's Hockey (8-4-1/5-1-0 MIAC - split with Adrian 3-2 & 2-7)

- Concordia split their two-game series with Adrian (Mich.) last weekend. The Cobbers downed the Bulldogs 3-2 on Friday to with their eighth game of the season. CC is currently 8-4-1 overall and 5-1-0 in conference play. They are in third place in the MIAC standings, just two points behind league-leading St. Thomas.

- Concordia senior goalie Amber Malcolm (North Vancouver, B.C.) is 2-0 in her only two starts this season. She stopped 38 shots in the team’s win on Friday. She currently has a 1.00 goals against average and a 97.0% save percentage.

- Cobber junior Kaylee Black (Barrie, Ontario) had a goal and an assist in each of the two games against Adrian last weekend. She has scored at least one goal in the last three games and now has five goals and five assists on the year for 10 points. She is currently second on the team in scoring.


Swimming & Diving (lost to St. Ben's 188-109)

- Concordia lost to St. Ben’s 188-109 in a dual meet on Friday. The loss snapped a two-meet winning streak for the Cobbers. CC is now 2-3 in dual meets this season.

- Concordia junior diver Lauren Trudeau (Stillwater, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) won two of the four events that CC captured against the Blazers. She captured both portions of the 1-meter diving competition. She won the first event with a score of 154.65 and beat teammate Amy Glubzinski (Novi, Mich.), who finished in second place, by 7.90 points. Trudeau then backed up her first win by scoring 208.30 in the second portion of the diving event and won by 4.15 points.

- The two simming events won by the Cobbers on Friday were taken by Katie Coleman (So., Marshall, Minn.) and Kristina Westmark (So., Appleton, Wis.). Coleman swam a 2:22.74 in the 200-yard backstroke and earned a win in her third straight dual meet. Westmark recorded a time of 2:28.35 in the 200-yard individual medley beat fellow Cobber Shaina Fossum (Sr., Minnetonka, Minn.) by a mere 0.10 of a second. Coleman has now won at least one event in the last three dual meets for CC.


Wrestling (finished fifth at the National Duals)

- Concordia went 4-1 at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals Tournament last weekend and captured fifth place. The Cobbers beat three teams that were ranked in the top 15 of the nation to capture fifth-place honors. CC beat #9 St. John's 22-14 then downed #14 Olivet 21-16 and finished the tournament by beating #11 Cornell 24-15.

- With the four wins at the National Duals, the Cobbers moved all the way up to ninth in the latest Brute-Adidas National Wrestling Coaches Association poll. That is the highest the Concordia wrestling program has ever been ranked in a national poll. The Cobbers jumped all the way from 22nd in the latest poll.

- Concordia sophomore Phil Moenkedick (Perham, Minn.) was undefeated at the National Duals and is now 16-0 on the season. He is currently ranked ninth in the nation in the latest national individual rankings.

- Concordia has three other wrestlers ranked in the top 10 of the nation. Ben Anderson (So., Frazee, Minn.), Lane Lunde (Jr., West Fargo, N.D.) and All-American Tony Neumann (Sr., Willmar, Minn.) are all ranked in the top 10. Anderson is the highest ranked CC wrestler. He is No.3 in the 141-lb weight class. Lunde is No.6 at 157 and Neumann is No.9 at 197.
