Concordia upended nationally ranked Minot State, #15 NAIA, and ran close to NCAA Division II #14 NDSU and #19 UND at the University of North Dakota Invitational Friday, September 17.

Concordia's record stands at 11-5, having lost only to NCAA Division II nationally ranked teams and
NCAA Division III #8 St. John's.  Steve Edlund (Jr., Cyrus, MN/Morris H.S.) led the way finishing 9th overall in 27:10.  Steve was followed closely by Sophomore Dave Dahlseng (Cyrus, MN/Morris H.S.), 13th in 27:22 and Junior Chris Goebel (Albany, MN), 16th in 27:34.  The Cobber top 5 all ran under 28:00 with 14 runners under 29:40.

The next competition will be in two weeks with the top 10 runners traveling to Wartburg, host of the 1999 Central Region Championship.  Part of the squad will also compete at the Valley City State Invitational the same weekend.
