MIAC Men's Soccer Player of the
Week
Nov. 9, 1999
Macalester's Shingai Mukurazita (Jr., Forward, Harare, Zimbabwe / Kutama
College) helped Macalester clinch its third straight MIAC championship
when he scored a pair of second half goals to erase a 1-1 halftime tie
and give the Scots a 3-1 victory Friday at Gustavus. The win clinched the
conference crown and gave Macalester an automatic bid in the NCAA playoffs.

Concordia's Eric
Singer (Sr., F, Plymouth, Armstrong HS) scored two goals
in Saturday's game against Bethel. The two tallies brought his total in
the MIAC to 7 this year, to go along with his 5 assists. His 19 MIAC points
is first on the team, and third overall in the league.

Macalester's Kimani Williams (So.,
F., Kingston, Jamaica / Kingston College) scored one goal in Macalester's
3-0 win Wednesday over St. Mary's and added a three-goal hat trick Saturday
at St. Thomas to lead Macalester to a 4-0 win over the Tommies. It was
his first career hat trick. Williams and the Scots have won six straight
and stand at 11-2-2 on the season.

MIAC Men's Soccer Player of the

Bethel's Andy Frye (Jr., F, Maple Grove, Osseo High School) scored the only goal of the match for Bethel in their win over Saint John's on Tuesday. The goal helped the Royals notch a key MIAC men's road victory and kept them in the hunt for the MIAC title. Frye now has 12 goals in 12 games for the Royals, which leads the team. Frye also has 5 goals in 6 MIAC games which also leads the team.

Carleton's Thomas Sebby (Sr./Midfield, Boise, Idaho/Boise H.S.) notched assists on all three of Carleton's goals last week, in a 2-1 come-from-behind road win over Augsburg and a 1-1 road draw at Gustavus Adolphus. Sebby set up Carleton's tying goal against Augsburg in the 73rd minute of the game off a corner kick, and set up the game-winning goal with a cross in the 85th minute. Against Gustavus Adolphus, Sebby set up teammate Carl Tape in the 44th minute of the game to give Carleton the early lead.

MIAC Men's Soccer Player of the
Week
October 5, 1999
Concordia's Todd Stebleton, (Sr, Midfield, Burnsville) scored three goals this past week, including two in Concordia's 3-1 victory over Carleton on Saturday. He also had the Cobber goal against St. Thomas on Tuesday. Stebleton is currently second on the team in scoring with 4 goals and 1 assist on the year. His play in the center of the field was the key to the Cobbers first MIAC victory of the year.

MIAC Men's Soccer Player of the
Week
September 28, 1999
St. John's goalkeeper Kevin Kohnen
( Jr., 6-4, 200, Ramsey, MN, Anoka HS) posted two shutouts
this past week in MIAC play. On September 22 at Macalester Kevin turned
away 9 shots on net by the Scots. His performance was the key in the Johnnies'
0-0 draw against the defending MIAC Champion Scots. Kohnen posted his second
shutout of the week Saturday in a 2-0 St. John's win over Carleton.
