9/29 Concordia Comes Up Short Against Carleton 2-1.
Concordia lost their second consecutive one-goal game to Carleton 2-1. The Cobbers scored first at 49:43 when Meghan Hansen (So., Eagan, MN) beat a Carleton defender on the wing and proceeded to blast a shot over the keepers hands and into the roof of the net. The Cobbers held the lead for almost 10 minutes when Carleton counterattacked and caught Concordia's defense pushed up the field. Mutebi Birungi slid the ball over to a wide open Morgan Russell-Dempsey who slotted the ball past Concordia keeper Kathy Braun (Jr.,Willmar). The game winning goal for the Knights came with just under 14 minutes to play when Mutebi Birungi found herself alone in front of the net and pushed a shot past the diving Braun.
