11/30 Concordia Defeats Chapman 80-77 in Double
Overtime
Concordia downed Chapman (CA) 80-77 in a double overtime thriller.
The Cobbers overcame a 34-31 deficit and rallied in the second half to
tie the score at 64. Both teams scored five points in the first overtime
period and then Concordia pulled away putting up 11 points in the deciding
frame. Concordia had 3 players in double digits in points and a fourth
with nine. Jeff Ubben (Jr., Moorhead, MN) led all scorers with 20 points,
he also hauled down nine rebounds. Mike Syverson (Jr.,Twin Valley,
MN) played well and added 14, senior transfer Joe Snowden (St. Paul, MN)
had 14 while Robb Flint (Jr., Dilworth, MN) was the final member of the
ten-point plus foursome with 10.
Concordia (1-1) advances to play in the semifinals of the Lee Fulmer
Tournament at the University of Redlands tomorrow at 10:00 (CT). They will
play the host team, University of Redlands, who downed Simpson (CA)
92-74. With the loss, Chapman suffers their first defeat of the season
and now sit at 5-1.
