Scored a game high 19 points as the Cobbers hung on for a 62-61 victory over Carleton.

1/06 Concordia Holds on to Beat Carleton 62-61
Concordia survived a last second scare to post a 62-61 over conference foe Carleton. The Cobbers had a comfortable nine point lead with 2:45 left in the game, but then Carleton put on a determined effort and narrowed the gap to one before narrowly missing a game-winning shot at the buzzer. Concordia was once again led by Joe Snowden (Sr., St. Paul, MN)  who had a game high 19 points, and continued to hit clutch shots throughout the game. Carleton received 18 points from Steve Nuessle, and had to rely on only six players as the  team was depleted due to injuries.

Concordia used a tough defense to hold the Knights to only 27 points in the first half, and took a four point lead into the break. The Cobbers came out in the second half and started to heat up as they held a seven to nine point margin for most of the remainder of the game. Carleton kept sticking around which led to the last minute run that almost netted the Knights an improbable victory. With 46 seconds to go Concordia had the ball and a one point lead. Carleton committed four straight fouls to put the Cobbers into the bonus. With 13 seconds to go Kevin Gilchrest (Fr., Seattle, WA) missed the front end of a one-and-one, and Carleton had a chance to steal the win. After Concordia knocked the ball out of bounds, the Knights Jeff Jensen missed a shot with one second remaining.

Concordia extends their conference unbeaten streak to three as they improve to 3-1. Overall the Cobbers are 6-2. Carleton continues to struggle as they lose for the sixth time in seven games. The Knights fall to 1-4 in the MIAC and 3-6 overall. Concordia stays on the road and travels to league leading, and unbeaten, Gustavus on Monday, January 8th at 7:30.
