11/30 Concordia Fouls Out Against UW-River Falls 71-56.
Concordia lost their first game of the year to UW-River Falls
71-56 in a battle of previously unbeaten teams. The Cobbers 2-0 coming
into the game were plagued by inconsistent shooting and foul trouble. The
Falcons, 5-0 before tonight's game, made 25 of 39 free throws in
the game, as four of the five starting players for Concordia fouled out.
Concordia shot 8-of-30 (.267) from the field in the first half and trailed
by seven, only to shoot 10-of-28 (.357) in the second half and lose by
15. Brandi Myers (Sr., Glyndon, MN) led all Cobber scorers with 15 and
Sara Spears (Sr., Spicer, MN) contributed eight points and eight
rebounds. Four UW-River Falls players were in double figures and scored
54 of the teams 71 points. Concordia committed a season high 24 turnovers
while UW-River Falls only turned the ball over six times in the second
half.
The Cobbers now start MIAC play as they travel to Minneapolis to take
on Augsburg on December 6th at 5:30. The game is the first part of the
Women's and Men's doubleheader.
