8/31 Cobbers Fall in Opening
Dual Meet to Jamestown 25-32.
Concordia opened the 2001 cross country season by falling to Jamestown.
Last year the Cobbers defeated the Jimmies by a similar margin of 23-32.
The dual meet record between the two schools now stands at 1-1.
The top runner for Concordia was Jim Monson (Jr., Maple Plain, Minn.), finishing in 3rd with a time of 28:50.3. Close behind were teammates Jason Karls (Sr., Billings, Mont.) and Kirk Nelson (Sr., Hettinger, N.Dak.) in 29:03.6 and 29:14.8 respectively. Freshman Nick Myran (West Concord, Minn.) and senior captain Dave Dahlseng (Cyrus, MN/Morris HS) were the team's 4th and 5th runners in 29:30.8 and 30:04.5.
Concordia travels to the University of North Dakota Invitational in
two weeks to compete against NCAA Division II foes NDSU and UND and a host
of tough NAIA competition.
