Katie Jacques Jr. Tempe, Ariz. Scored the game winning goal and racked up an assist in the Cobbers 3-2 win over Hamline.

It was their closest contest of the season, but the Cobbers hung on to defeat Hamline 3-2 and sweep the weekend series. The win moves the Cobbers to 7-0 on the season, 6-0 in the MIAC.

Hamline opened the scoring at 10:44 of the first period on a goal by Niki Simon, her second in as many games, and the first period ended with a 1-0 Hamline advantage.

Concordia bounced back with two second period goals, the first by Lindsay Kurtis (So., Phoenix, Ariz.) at 1:40, her sixth goal of the season and fourth of the series, following a hat trick in Friday's series opening 6-2 win. The Cobbers went to the third period with a 2-1 lead after Jennie Berger (Jr., Bozeman, Mont.) scored her second goal of the season at 18:31, just a day after picking up her first goal. Concordia stretched the lead to 3-1 on a goal by Katie Jacques (Jr., Tempe, Ariz.) at 2:04, her team-leading 12th on the season. Hamline cut the lead to one on an unassisted goal by Angie Erickson at 12:11, her fourth of the year, but neither team scored in the last 7:49, and the Cobbers held on to win 3-2.

Jamie Savage (Fr., Apple Valley, Minn.) made her first regular season start in goal for the Cobbers, stopping 36 of 38 shots to pick up the victory. She had picked up an earlier win in an exhibition game against the SCSU Club Team. The next action for the Cobbers will be a home series against St. Thomas on Friday, Dec. 14, at 7:00, and Saturday, Dec. 15, at 2:00, at the Moorhead Sports Center.
