The first quarter was scoreless, but the Cobbers brought a 7-0 lead into halftime after a 10-yard touchdown run by Bobby Clark (Jr., Seeley Lake, Mont.) with 8:02 left in the second quarter. The Oles responded with 6:29 left in the third quarter, tying the score on a one-yard plunge by Jason Moore. The Cobbers recaptured the lead with 2:21 remaining in the quarter when Jeremy Hinderks (Jr., Renville, Minn.) punched it in from one yard out. Hinderks added another one-yard scoring run with 10:50 left in the game, giving the Cobbers a 21-7 lead, but the Oles answered again, scoring on a 21-yard pass from Brian Senske to Cory Paterson with 8:23 remaining. The Cobbers put the game out of reach with 1:35 on the clock, when Brian Halverson (Fr., Fargo, N.Dak.) kicked home a 28-yard field goal to give the Cobbers a 24-14 victory. |
