Fall 92,   Alumni News - Concordia Moorhead
An MIAC title in golf and a strong 7-2-1 season by the football team highlighted the Cobber fall sports season.

The football team opened the season with a 13-12 win over Moorhead State University and capped it with an exciting 18-18 tie with St. John's University in the Metrodome. Sophomore halfback Mike Jousma, Bigfork, Mont., gained 1,125 yards rushing, and senior safety Steve Trelstad '93, Westbrook, Minn., had six interceptions to lead the defense.

Three women golfers joined sophomore MIAC Champion Lisa Hanson in claiming all-MIAC honors in women's golf: Julie Jamison '94, Moorhead; Holly Rogers '93, Cloquet, Minn.; and Karl Wairath '96, Watertown, S.D.

Senior Darren Sheldon, Park River, N.D., and Charlie Ehlers '95, Worthington, Minn., were all-MIAC in men's golf.

Senior Jason Trichier, Billings, Mont., made a return trip to NCAA Cross Country Nationals, and Carissa Blair '93, Albert Lea, Minn., earned all-MIAC honors among the women runners.

The women's soccer team improved behind all-MIAC junior Lydia Kabaka, St. Cloud, Minn., and high-scoring frosh Krysta Morgenthaler, Minneapolis. New men's soccer coach Jim Cella brought his infectious enthusiasm and a sense of upward mobility to that program.
