Sophomore Mike Wrobel's follow-up shot with :01 to play gave the visiting Conocrdia Cobbers (4-7, 2-5) a 72-71 win over host St. Thomas (7-4, 5-2) in MIAC men's basketball action Saturday at Schoenecker Arena.
Wrobel's basket was one of only two field goals the Cobbers made in the final 9:52. The loss knocked UST out of first place.

Concordia made 1-of-2 free throws with :23 to go to pull within 71-70. A UST turnover with 14 second left gave the Cobbers another chance. After a timeout, Kermit Cooper's jumper with :07 to go rimmed out. Wrobel got the long rebound and put up a short jumper that bounced three times and rolled in with :01 to go.
Concordia jumped to a 14-3
lead, built it to 32-13 and still led 36-27 at halftime. Their biggest
second-half lead was 61-45 with 9:52 to play after Joe Ford converted a
three-point play.
But Buri scored 10 and Kip
Sparby had nine points to lead a 26-8 run that got the Toms back in the
game.
Ford had a game-high 23 points for the Cobbers, who made 52% from the field. Kaselring added 18 points and Cooper had 12 points, six assists and three steals.
Sparby scored 16 points and
added eight rebounds, Mark Buri had 13, Cole Butler scored 11 and Matt
