Concordia names head coaches for Women's Cross Country and Women's Swimming
Concordia-Moorhead athletic director, Dr. Armin Pipho, announced today that Marv Roeske has been named head women's cross country coach and Julie Lucier will be the head women's swimming coach.
Roeske, who also serves as Concordia's head women's track and field coach, is replacing former cross country coach Sharon Espeland. Espeland, who coached from 1996-1998, recently moved to Bismarck to take a student affairs position with the University of Mary.
Lucier takes over the head swimming coach position from Connie Kirchoffner, who coached from 1996-1999.
Roeske will continue as the head women's track and field coach. His teams have won three of the last four MIAC Track and Field titles, including the 1998 and 1999 indoor championship and the 1999 outdoor championship. He was the MIAC women's track and field Coach of the Year in 1998 and 1999.
Lucier, a 1992 Concordia graduate, served as the head girls swimming coach at Marshall (MN) High School from 1994-1999. She also taught mathematics in the Marshall school system from 1993 to 1999 and at the Climax (MN) school system from 1992-1993. While at Concordia as a student, Lucier served as a coach for the Moorhead Marlins Swim Club (1991-1992).
