Feb. 13 Cobbers (13-8, 12-6) lose 73-68 at St. Olaf.
Concordia trailed most of the way, including 12 at the half but came
back to get within two late in the game. But St. Olaf held on at the end.
St. Olaf is now 15-6 overall, 14-4 in the MIAC.

St. Olaf women post BB victories over Gustavus, St. Mary's

NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The
St. Olaf College women's basketball team edged
closer to the top of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
standings last week, defeating third-ranked Gustavus 84-78 on Feb.

(their second victory of the season over the Gusties), and nipping
St.
Mary's 68-66 on Feb. 3 in two road contests. As of Feb. 8 the Ole women
are tied for fourth in the MIAC at 12-4 and 13-6 overall.
At Winona Erin Collins (senior,
Kasson, Minn.) and Ann Schultz (senior,
Oakdale, Minn.) each had 13 points in the Ole women's victory. Natalie
Siefer (senior, Storm Lake, Iowa) added 10.
At St. Peter Collins totaled
18 points; Jana Ferguson (senior, Barnum,
Minn.) added 17; and Schultz, Lara Giebelstein (senior, Bluegrass,
Iowa), Elisa Hatlevig (sophomore, Rushford, Minn.) teamed up for 11
each. The Ole victory drops Gustavus to 13-3 in the MIAC and 14-5
overall.
Siefer, the Oles' leading
scorer who is expected to surpass 1,000
points later this month, had five points against Gustavus, bringing
her
career point total to 959.
Coach Pat Buresh's Oles
host Bethel at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10,
and are at home again against Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday, Feb.
13,
for a 1 p.m. game -- the first of a men's-women's doubleheader against
the Cobbers. All St. Olaf home games are free and open to the public.
