NOTES/CLARIFICATIONS:

1998 Preview
Three returning starters and two all-conference players are among the returners for this years Concordia Volleyball Team.  The 1997 Cobbers finished third in the MIAC and narrowly missed in their bid for a third straight trip to the NCAA tournament.

Two time All-MIAC Conference and All-Region middle hitter Laura Reitmeier (Fisher-Climax, 99) returns for her fourth season.  She currently ranks first all-time in kills per game, and blocks per game and second in total kills and total blocks for Concordia.

Defensive specialists Camille Graven (Marshall) is the only other returning  senior on the Cobber roster.  Graven routinely makes outstanding defensive saves in the back row.

Anne Larson (Fargo (ND) North, 00), a 1997 All-MIAC middle hitter is the lone returning junioron this years team.  She was second in kills and blocks for the Cobbers last season.

Second year returners include outside hitter Jessica Cousins (Marshall), outside /middle hitter Stacy Davis (Wadena-Deer Creek), as well as right side players Missy Giese (Benson) and Erika Simons (Crosby).  Many of these sophomores saw extensive playing time last year and should play key roles on the team this season.

Transfer students Meredith Hegg (99, Win-E-Mac) and Jessica Schumacher (01, Fargo (ND) South) will also join in the hunt for playing time.  Hegg is a fourth year setter with previous playing experience at NDSU and Moorhead State University.  Outside/middle hitter Schumacher comes to Concordia after spending one year at NDSU.
