12/1/97 Named Academic All-MIAC 11/18/97 Tory Langemo was named 1997 First Team All-MIAC today
Tory Langemo, a 1997 All-America candidate, is one of the most dangerous receivers in the MIAC. Tory, in his 4th year as a starter, had his best year so far in 1996. He is also an excellent punt and kick-off return man. He was second in the MIAC in receiving yardage in 1996. He was the 1996 Cobber MVP and was named to the 1995 and 1996 All-MIAC teams. He goes into the 1997 season with 2002 career reception yards. Tory was a team captain in 1996. He is the third member of the family to be a Cobber captain. Tory's father Joe was an all-MIAC halfback and captain for the Cobbers in 1968. Tory's brother Tim was an all-MIAC strong safety and captain for the Cobbers in 1994. Coach Jim Christopherson's 1997 pre-season Comments: One of the most dangerous receivers in the conference, Tory is on the
verge of breaking several Cobber pass receiving records this year.
A starter since his freshman year, Tory is also one of the top punt and
kick off returners in the league. He served as a team captain in
1996.
