Coach Jim Christopherson's 1997 pre-season Comments:

After making the switch from tight end to defensive end in 1996, Jon has developed into one of the best players on the Cobber defensive unit.  His intelligent play; along with toughness and a fierce competitive spirit, will be counted on to return the Cobber defense to a high ranking in the MIAC in 1997.
