Coach Jim Christopherson's 1997 pre-season Comments:
Ryan has blossomed into one of the best linebackers in the MIAC.
He is intelligent, quick, and equally adept defending the run or pass.
A fine leader, he will serve as a captain of the team in 1997.
(Note: Ryan's father was an All-Conf Defensive End on the Cobber's 1964 National Championship team. He also served as a captain.)
