The 1963 football team, under Coach Jake Christiansen, finished the season in second place in the MIAC with a 6 - 1 record, 7 - 2 overall. The defense yielded only 2.9 yards per rush against MIAC teams. Captains of the team were Jim Herk, Darrel Naugle and Gary Larsen.

The team was comprised of Dale Carlson, Mike Hanson, Jim Lindberg, Bruce Evanson, Pete Mauritsen, Frank Johnson, Dim Dalen, Keith Bangs, Marlin Larson, Lyndon Sonju, Bob Nick, Gary Larsen, Art Lund Keith Larson and Don Gerhardt.

Joe Clementson was the student coach of the 1963 - 1864 gymnastics team, which included Leo Lipp, Russ Haugen, Rod Shukhart, Lee Stavenger, Gene Gunderson, Jim Hofstad, Jim Magnuson, Langford Larson and Jim Howson.

The 1963-1964 hockey team was led by student coach Bruce Unfried who was voted All-Conference for the second straight year. The team amassed a 3 - 7 - 1 season record. On the team were George Mathison, Larry Mathison, John Simpson, Tom Holverson, Bob Katayama, Wayne Orr, Jim L’Heurex, Paul Dorward, Bob Nielsen, Ron Kershner, Bill Donley, Rick Torgerson, Glenn Baldwin and Al Ahlberg.

After being nosed out of the conference championship in 1963, the 1963 - 1964 wrestling team came back to win the MIAC conference wrestling title in 1964, scoring 69 points to 58 for runnerup Gustavus. They won both the Carleton and Luther tournaments. Finn Grinaker coached the team which included LeRoy Thompson, Doug Dufty, Ron Offutt, Harlan Leopold, Don Peterson, Mike Myhre, Jim Herk, Raleigh Lillemoe, Darrel Naugle, Morris Lanning, Emil Knapp, Mark Budd, Einar Aarsheim, Dave Stenberg, Jim Stover, Marty Thompson, Dennis Johnson, Curt Peterson and Ron Stow.

The 1964 track team coach was Irv Christenson and the co-captains were Rollie Martinson and Tom Hunt. On the roster were Tom Anderson, Ron Letness, Tom Hunt, Doug Perry, Chuck Beck, Rollie Martinson, Ron Stow, Dick Jeffers, Dick Sibley, Rod Shuckhart, Al Rud, Bob Davis, Paul Spilseth, Doub Huff, Gary Olson, Pete Setness, Dean KeKok, and Norm Anderson. (Paul Sanderson was medalist with a 73.)

The conference championship was determined by a combination of standings in the MIAC meet plus the results of the MIAC triangulars. Points were given for the standings in both types of competition. More emphasis was given to the MIAC meet than to the triangular competition.
