“Ed Langsdorf’s Concordia track team is off and flying already and the
outlook after the US Track and Field Federation meet at NDSU is really
bright. Sophomore distance ace Jon Gossett shattered the indoor-outdoor
school mile record as he raced to a 4:22.1 mile victory in section B.
This was only the beginning as four other school records fell. Bob
Seim ran the 600-yard dash in 1:14.1 and Dave Grinaker set two school records.
The first came in the 60-yard high hurdles in 7.6. Grinaker also
finished 2nd in the invitational 220 intermediate hurdles in 26.5, also
a school record. “
The relay teams did really well as a new school record was set in the
mile relay and 440-yard relay. Jon Gossett, Dennis Frichtel, Jim
Bauck, and Bob Seim ran 3:28.7 in the mile relay and Robin Foss, Jim Bauck,
Bob Heckert, and Dave Grinaker ran 46.1 in the 440-yard relay.”
