1974 Cross Country
Ed Langsdorf was the coach of the 1974 cross-country team, with Scott Vanorsdel as assistant coach. On the team were Ed Deutschmann, John Gossett, Bob Seim, Paul Folden, Steve Miller, Eric Delapena, Alan Johnson, Daryl Kosiak, Larry Schulz, Bruce Turner and Bob Johnson.
“The Concordia cross-country team begins its fourth modern season with some apprehension, but with several experienced returnees which should help the Cobbers’ chances for a successful year. The somewhat apprehensive feeling is primarily due to the fact that, in the words of Coach Ed Langsdorf, “We don’t have a real tradition in cross-country and don’t have any really good long-distance runners. Langsdorf said he may do some recruiting for a distance man next year, but for the time being he will have to take comfort in the abundance of returning lettermen from last year. Jon Gossett and Bob Seim were all-conference track performers last spring.”
Some incomplete results were:
Concordia 32 Wahpeton Science 22
Wahpeton Quadrangular: 2nd place
Valley City Invitational: 1st place (Jon Gossett and Ed Deutschmann
finished 2, 4
