While the tennis team had a disappointing 0-4 record, two individuals finished the season with 3-1 records: sophomore Jany Dynes from Dickinson, N.D., and Moorhead freshman Debra Hjalmquist.

 Women's tennis has 8-4 record

Concordia's women's tennis team finished its first spring season with an 8-4 record in dual matches and two members advanced to a tournament.

Invited to the Minnesota Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Division III tournament were Jil Bromme of Moorhead and Naomi Paulsen of Northfield, Minn. Bromme was the consolation champion in number two singles. Paulsen finished the season with a 10-6 singles record and 9-3 doubles mark.

Other top performers on the squad were Debra Hjalmquist of Moorhead with a 17-3 record; Ann Schmidt of Moorhead with 9-6; Heidi Kiund of Anoka, Minn., at 12-4; Laurie Anderson of Moorhead with 12-10; Linda Dahi of Coon Rapids, Minn., at 7-6; and Bromme with 12-10.

Coaching the women's tennis team was Bernice Pavek.
