Tennis team shows depth

The Cobber women's tennis team enjoyed one of its best dual seasons in years by going 19-2 during the regular season. Although they finished sixth in the MIAC meet, they were only a few points out of second place. Junior Lisa Hanson, from (where else?) Wilimar, led the Cobbers from her No.2 spot with a 19-3 season record. Her younger sister, Jill, a freshman, had a 17-5 record at No.4 singles. Senior captain Tania Thielman, Jamestown, N.D., teamed with Lisa to post a 17-2 doubles record. Only two of the top eight players graduated, so it looks good for women's tennis next season.
