Relays Results
JAMESTOWN, N.D.-- Two individual
athletes posted national qualifying marks as the Cobbers finished second
at the Al Cassell Relays held at Jamestown College in Jamestown, N.D.
Nicole
Plante and Lindsay Kuznia led
the way for Concordia as they finished in the top two in their individual
event and also qualified for the NCAA Division III National Meet in the
process. Kuznia cracked the 11-foot barrier for the first time in her career
on her way to provisionally qualifying for nationals in the event. She
won the pole vault with a final height of 11-0.25.(More)

COLLEGEVILLE-- Concordia
senior track and field sensation Nicole
Plante continues to chart a crash course to becoming an All-American.
On Monday at the St. John's Heptathlon, she moved one step closer to that
goal.
Overall in the competition,
she finished second with a total score of 4,576 points. That mark breaks
the school record of 4,428 points she set last year at the NCAA National
Meet. Her total is also the second best mark recorded in the nation this
season. She is only behind Laura
Verdegan of UW-Stout who claimed first place at the same competition
with a total of 4,802 points.(More) |

Nicole Plante Named MIAC
Field Athlete of the Week!
Concordia senior Nicole
Plante (Fort Benton, Mont.) was named the MIAC Field Athlete of the
Week for her event-winning performance in the javelin at the Emory Spring
break Invitational.
Plante placed first in the
Javelin with a NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 140'10" at the Spring
Break Invite hosted by Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. This performance
ranks Plante 2nd in the nation for Division III.
Plante is the three-time
defending MIAC champion in the javelin and has broken the school record
in 2003 and 2004. She has qualified for the NCAA National Championship
Meet in each of the past two years. Her highest finish in the javelin at
the national meet is 14th place, which she accomplished last season.
She is coming off an indoor
season that saw her finish second in the pentathlon for the second consecutive
season. |

Pfeiffer Earns First
Indoor All-American Honor!

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.-- Concordia
junior Angie Pfeiffer (Jr., Colman, S.D./Colman-Egan HS) finished
eighth in the finals of the 400 meters and claimed her first indoor All-American
award of her career. Pfeiffer, who ran a school-record 58.08 in the preliminaries,
clocked a 59.62 in the finals to claim the All-American honor.
Pfeiffer adds the indoor
All-American award to her three outdoor All-Americans. Last spring she
finished sixth in the 400 meters and then anchored the 4x400-meter relay
team that also earned All-American honors. As a freshman, Pfeiffer finished
seventh in the 100 meters to earn the All-American award.(More)

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.-- Angie
Pfeiffer (Jr., Colman, S.D./Colman-Egan HS) broke a 19-year-old school
record in the first preliminary heat of the 400 meters at the NCAA Division
III National Indoor Track and Field Meet held at Illinois Wesleyan and
qualified for the finals in the event.
Pfeiffer, who is the two-time
defending MIAC indoor champion in the event, raced to a 58.08 to qualify
seventh for the eight-person finals. Her time breaks the old school record
of 58.18 held by Pam Olsgaard which was set in 1986.(More) |

Angie Pfeiffer Qualifies
for NCAA Division III National Indoor Meet!
Concordia junior sprint
sensation Angie Pfeiffer (Colman, S.D./Colman-Egan HS) received
notification that she officially qualified for the NCAA Division III National
Indoor Track and Field Meet held on March 11 in Bloomington, Ill. She is
the only Cobber track and field athlete to qualify for the national meet.
Pfeiffer qualified in the
400 meters, an event she won at the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championship
Meet. She won the event in a time of 58.60, which is the second fastest
time in school history and currently ranks her 18th in the nation.
Pfeiffer is a three-time
outdoor All-American. Last spring she finished sixth in the 400 meters
and then

Cobbers Tune Up for MIAC
Indoor Championships by Competing at St. Olaf Open.

St. Olaf Open Results
NORTHFIELD-- Concordia used
the school's mid-semester break to tune up for the upcoming MIAC Indoor
Track and Field Championship Meet. The Cobbers traveled south to Northfield
with a select group of athletes to compete in the St. Olaf Open.
The Cobbers had two middle
distance runners continue win races against the top competition from around
the region. Jen St. John and Amy Ravenhorst were the lone
event winners for Concordia as they claimed titles in the 600 and 800 meters.
St. John ran a 2:21.99 in
the 800 meters and won by over two seconds. That time is a personal best
and ranks her ninth in the MIAC this season. Ravenhorst's time of 1:39.81
in the 600 meters is the third fastest in school history and also ranks
her third on the league honor roll for 2005.(More) |

Cobbers Can't Extinguish
Blazers at St. Ben's Triangular.

St. Ben's Triangular Results
COLLEGEVILLE-- Concordia
came up 16 points shy of the red-hot Blazers in their only head-to-head
track meet of the indoor season. The Cobbers fell 141.5-125.5 to the host
Blazers in the St. Ben's Triangular Meet. Concordia beat Luther College
(IA) 125.5-124.0 to finish in second place in the one-day affair held at
St. John's.
Angie Pfeiffer and
Amy
Ravenhorst were the only event winners for the Cobbers at the meet.
Pfeiffer ran a 25.96 to win the 200 meters. That time is the second fastest
mark posted in the MIAC this season, and is only .02 from Pfeiffer's school
record of 25.94 set last year. Ravenhorst claimed the championship in the
600 meters in a time of 1:41.29. That is the sixth fastest time recorded
in the MIAC so far this season.(More) |

MOORHEAD-- Concordia continued
on their quest to capture their second straight MIAC Championship crown
as they hosted the top regional teams from NCAA Division I, II and NAIA.
The Cobbers appeared to be right on track after claiming last spring's
outdoor title as they broke one school record and had seven different performances
crack the top ten on the all-time performance list for the school.
Concordia claimed individual
event titles in the 1000 meters and in two different relay events. Jen
St. John, one of this year's biggest stories for the Cobbers as she
emerges as a top-flight middle distance runner, won the 1000 meters in
a time of 3:05.33, which was over one second faster than the runner-up
finisher. Her time is also the second fastest in the MIAC to date.(More)

MOORHEAD-- Concordia ran
away from the competition and claimed their second consecutive Cobber Dual
Meet championship. It is also their third dual meet crown in the past five
seasons. Concordia was paced by five individual event wins and two relay
titles.
The Cobbers finished the
meet with a perfect 5-0 record. Concordia's toughest competition of the
meet came from NAIA powerhouse Jamestown College. The Cobbers beat the
Jimmies by a narrow 90-88 margin. Concordia also posted wins over Bemidji
State, MSU-Moorhead, NDSU and UM-Morris. Jamestown finished second at the
meet with a 4-1 final record.(More) |
