11/10 Jackie Barten Named First Team All-MIAC.
First year hitter Jackie Barten (Fr., Melrose Minn.) was named to the MIAC All-Conference First Team. Barten led the Cobbers to a 7-4 record in the MIAC, which was good for fifth place and a spot in the conference tournament. Barten finished the season with 133 kills and 79 blocks. She led the MIAC in blocks with 50, an average of over 1.4 per game. She also finished eighth in the conference in hitting percentage. She was named the MIAC Hitter of the Week on October 8th for her performance in wins over Macalester, Gustavus and Carleton. Barten compiled 28 kills (2.33 kpg), hit .304, 21 blocks (1.75 bpg), and 7 digs (.6dpg) in the three matches. Her 9-block effort against Macalester was a season high for Concordia. 11/09 The Concordian, Volleyball

Cobber middle hitter Jackie Barten (Fr., Melrose Minn.) helped lead the Cobbers to wins over Macalester, Gustavus and Carleton. Barten compiled 28 kills (2.33 kpg), hit .304, 21 blocks (1.75 bpg), and 7 digs (.6dpg). Barten's 9-block effort against Macalester was a season high for Concordia. Cobber setter Jessica Walden (Fr., Hawley, Minn.) sparked the Cobbers to three key conference wins (12 games) this week over Macalester, Gustavus and Carleton. Walden recorded 138 assists (11.5 apg), 44 digs (3.67 dpg), 6 service aces (.5 sapg), and 3 blocks (.25 bpg). Walden also had 3 kills (.25 kpg) with no errors and hit .200. 10/06 Cobbers Win Third Straight,

The Cobbers were led by middle hitters Kris Sather (Fr., Fosston, Minn.) and Danielle Schmiesing (Villard, Minn.). Sather put down 12 kills in the three games, while Schmiesing had 10. Jessica Walden (Fr., Hawley, Minn.) had a team-high 24 assists for the match. Concordia hosts cross-town rival MSU-Moorhead on Wednesday, September 5th at 7:00.
