Kelly Cornell, a senior from Thief River Falls, Minn., was the medalist at the MIAC Women's Golf Championship in Mankato on September 28-29. Teammates Cathy Johnson (Sr., Milbank, S.D.) and Julie Jamison (So., Moorhead) each tied for third in the meet and helped the Cobbers capture the MIAC team title. The Cobbers are anticipating an invitation to the spring 1992 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship based on their fall performance. Cornell was also honored as one of Concordia's four fall Academic All-MIAC athletes.
Many other Cobber athletes found similar success in the fall.
Deb Idstrom, a senior from New, Hope, Minn., broke the Concordia school record for goals in a season with 19 as she led the women's soccer team. Teammate Lydia Kabaka (So., St. Cloud, Minn.) joined Idstrom in making a repeat appearance on the coaches' all-MIAC soccer team. Idstorm was further recognized as a first-team NCAA All-West Region player. Andy Stotts, a standout sophomore defenseman from Edina, Minn., was named to the coaches' All-MIAC Men's Soccer Team.

The 1991 Cobber gridders were led by senior captains Kevin Pavelko (Glyndon, Minn.), Mark Pagel (Duluth, Minn.), and Mark Lundstrom (Fargo, N.D.). All three earned spots on the coaches' All-MIAC First Team. Pavelko was one of the top linebackers in the MIAC and was voted the Cobber MVP. He was also recognized as an Academic All-MIAC athlete and earned a spot on the GTE Academic All-Region team. Pagel triggered the Cobber rushing attack as the league's best offensive center. The speedy and sure-handed Lundstrom led the Cobbers in receiving and kick returns.
Other Cobber football players honored this fall include senior Bob LaTourell (Ely, MN), who led the Cobbers in rushing. Bob was named to the GTE Academic All-Region team and earned a spot on the Academic All-MIAC team.
Joining LaTourell and Pavelko on the Academic All-Region team were senior kicker Chris Reimertz (Oaks, N.D.) and defensive lineman Steve Swanson, from Kennedy. The Cobber football team has elected junior quarterback Dan Sward (Whitefish, Mont.) and junior cornerback Andy Becker (Rothchild, Wisc.) as captains of the 1992 team.
Other Cobber fall sports teams also finished down in the MIAC standings.

Doug Perry has taken over the Cobber wrestling program from Dr. Ron Nellermoe, who has returned to full-time teaching in the Biology department. Steve Baumgartner returns for his 6th season as head hockey coach. His team ran off twelve straght wins at the end of last season and has hopes of reaching this season's MIAC playoffs. The Cobbers finished second at the MIAC Thanksgiving Tournament in Bloomington.
In addition to the football and men's basketball coverage, ten Lady Cobber basketball games are also being carried live on KQWB this season. Veteran area broadcaster Larry Knutson is providing the Cobber basketball play-by-play.
