MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/7/10)-- Concordia junior Matt Edin (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley HS) and sophomore Kirby Johnson (Crookston, Minn.) were both named to the MIAC All-Conference Team it was announced by the league office on Friday. The Cobber tandem was part of a group of 30 players that made the all-conference team.

It marks the third straight season that Edin has earned All-Conference honors in singles play. It is the first time he achieved the award in doubles play. Johnson caps his career in maroon and gold by earning his second all-conference award in doubles play. He was also named to the MIAC All-Conference Team in his sophomore season in 2008.

Cobber freshman Devin Larson (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) was the team's representative to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

Edin, Concordia's No.1 singles player, compiled a 10-6 record in 2010. He also went 6-3 in conference play as the team's top singles player and was tied for second in victories among the No.1 singles players in the league.

In his three seasons at Concordia Edin has posted an overall career record of 27-20 and has a mark of 15-12 in conference play.

Johnson teamed with Edin as the team's No.1 doubles team. The pair were 4-5 in conference matches. They were also 7-9 in their 16 overall matches. Johnson earned his first MIAC All-Conference award in 2008 by going 4-4 with Will Wischer at No.1 doubles. In his three seasons as part of the team's No.1 doubles tandem, Johnson has posted a record in conference play of 11-14 and has been named to the all-conference squad twice.
