LINCOLN, Neb. (11/23/07)-- Despite senior Luke Linz collecting his first double-double of the season, Concordia was never able to stay with host Nebraska Wesleyan in the second half and fell 71-52 to the Prairie Wolves in Lincoln, Neb. on Friday.

The Cobbers played Nebraska Wesleyan tight for the entire first half, with the Prairie Wolves taking a nine-point lead at the break that was spurred by 13-4 run at the end of the period. The second half was a different story as Nebraska Wesleyan pushed the lead to 20 points at the 15:48 mark and went on to hold a 19-22 point lead the rest of the way.

The loss is the third straight for Concordia to start the season. It is the second straight season that the Cobbers have started the year with three consecutive defeats. The Prairie Wolves improve to 3-1.

Linz was the only CC player to score more than eight points in the game. He finished with 12 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Concordia could never get into a shooting rhythm for the game and finished by shooting 35.3% (18-for-51) for the game. The Cobbers connected on 33.3% (4-for-12) of their shots from 3-point range.

The Prairie Wolves shot 43.6% (24-for-55) from the floor and 42.1% (8-for-19) from beyond the arc. They were led by Ryan Thramer who matched Linz' double-double by pouring in a game-high 19 points and collecting 11 rebounds.

Nebraska Wesleyan outrebounded the Cobbers 37-35 in the game. The biggest statistical difference came in the turnover department where CC coughed the ball up 19 times as compared to only 12 for the Prairie Wolves.

Concordia will play Luther (Iowa) on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Nebraska Wesleyan to finish off the Snyder Classic Tournament. Luther beat St. Mary's 77-59 in the first game of the tournament.
