ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Concordia gave up 11 goals in the final two periods and fell 12-1 to St. John's in St. Cloud. The Cobbers had their four-game winning streak snapped by the Johnnies. Concordia is now 4-1 on the season. St. John's evens their record at 2-2-1.

The two teams skated to a one-goal first period, as St. John's took an early lead at the 3:28 mark of the opening period.

Concordia was outshot 13-3 in the opening 20 minutes as Cobber starting goalie Jeremy Boniface did his best to keep Concordia in the game.

The game started to come undone in the first six minutes of the second half. The Johnnies scored a pair of goals to push the lead to 3-0. After a St. John's goal at the 12:50 mark, the game was officially put away in the final minute of the second period. The Johnnies scored two goals in a matter of 17 seconds and took a 6-0 lead into the second break.

The Cobbers switched netminders in the third period, and sophomore Mike Dowers wasn't able to stop the Johnnie explosion either. St. John's scored six more times in the final 20 minutes to claim the 12-1 victory.

Concordia's lone consolation came at 10:02 when Brett Johnson scored his first goal of the season to finally put the Cobbers on the board.

The two teams will finish their two-game series tomorrow afternoon at 2:00pm at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex.
