Concordia could only muster one goal in each game against St. Olaf and were swept by the Oles, losing 3-1 on Sunday in Northfield.

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (01/14/07)-- Concordia allowed a single goal in each period and lost 3-1 to St. Olaf in Northfield on Sunday. The Cobbers scored their lone goal of the series with less than five minutes remaining in the third period.
With the loss, Concordia falls to 2-5-1 in conference play and 3-7-2 overall. The sweep allows the Oles to move to 6-1-1 in league play and take over the lead in the conference standings. St. Olaf is now 7-4-1 overall.
Paige Stone continued her hot scoring touch for the Cobbers. Stone netted the lone goal for CC and has now scored a goal in each of Concordia's last three games. She has scored three of the team's four goals since the Christmas break.
Concordia put themselves in a hole in the first two minutes of the game. St. Olaf got on the board at the 1:29 of the opening period when Tessa Christensen scored the first of her two goals in the game on the power play. Christensen also posted an assist on the Oles third goal in the game.
The Cobbers then held the Oles scoreless until the final minute of the second period. The goal at the 19:35 mark proved to be the game-winner and was a huge swing in momentum for St. Olaf.
The two teams traded goals in the third period. The Oles pushed the margin to three goals midway through the final frame on Christensen's second goal of the game. Stone then put the Cobbers on the board at 16:02 when she scored on the power play with assists going to Kayla Thorson and Brandie Dunn.
For the game, St. Olaf outshot the Cobbers 29-27 in an evenly played game. Both teams were also went 1-for-4 on the power play. Both squads were also even in penalties and penalty minutes. Each team took four penalties for eight penalty minutes.
Concordia goalie Maddie Haroldson made 26 saves and fell for the fourth time this year. Shannon Herrick stopped 26 shots to earn her third win of the year for the Oles.
The Cobbers will finally play their home opener next weekend. After playing the first 12 games of the year on the road, CC will host St. Mary's on Friday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. Both games will feature live statistics which will be available via the Cobber athletics website.
