FARGO, N.D. (9/03/10)-- Concordia senior Tom Sederquist wasted little time in announcing that he is fit and ready to go in 2010. After taking a sabbatical in 2009, Sederquist responded by cruising past his Division I competitors and claiming the individual championship at the NDSU Bison Open.

Sederquist sped to an 18:21.47 and won by a full :07 over former Bison athlete James Schanendore. Last year Schanendore beat Sederquist by :50 at the All-American 10K in the spring. Schanendore is a former All-Conference Summit League performer who raced for NDSU for four seasons.

Brad McConn was the only other Cobber athlete to place in the top 20 at the meet which featured only competitors from NDSU. McConn clocked a 19:34:33 and finished in 17th place.

Concordia will have a two-week break before returning to action when they compete at the St. Olaf Invite on Sept. 18 at 11:45 a.m.
