Twice As Nice!

MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/20/10)-- In the least shocking news story of the fall season, Concordia senior Tom Sederquist (Moorhead, Minn.) was named the MIAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week. The award comes after his eye-opening win at the Roy Griak Invite on Saturday and marks the second straight week he has won the award. He has now won the weekly honor three times in his career.

Establishing himself at the top harrier in the conference this season, Sederquist ran a time of 25:39.2 at the prestigious meet and won by almost five seconds. He beat runners from 30 teams and bettered almost 300 athletes in the meet. The meet featured the top teams in the region and several past All-Americans.

With the win, Sederquist became one of the few MIAC runners to win the Division III race at the Griak, joining an elite group that includes Bethel’s Dan Greeno (2008) and Hamline’s Tom Kreger (2002). Sederquist now has six victories in his Cobber career.
