ORLANDO, Fla. (9/14/10)-- Unaccustomed to playing in sweltering heat for three straight days, Concordia finished the prestigious Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational in Orlando, Fla. by shooting a 302 on Tuesday and slid into 13th place.

The Cobbers started the tournament in second place after firing a 290 on Sunday but then three straight days of temperatures in the 90's with humidity levels in the mid 90's took their toll as CC was unable to back up their eye-opening first round and shot a 307 on Monday followed by the final round 302.

Concordia senior Zach Kappes was the team leader over the three days in sweltering Florida. Kappes opened the invite with a 2-under 70 but then had rounds of 76 and 74 and finished in 25th place.

The Cobbers will welcome the climate change back to Minnesota when they compete in the St. John's Invite on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 18-19 at Greystone Golf Club and Blackberry Ridge GC in central Minnesota.
