Meet Recap

SARTELL, Minn. (9/19/10)-- After finishing a tournament in Florida on Tuesday, Concordia had three days to prepare for the St. John's Invite in Central, Minnesota over the weekend. The Cobbers were unable to post low numbers and finished in a tie for sixth place. Concordia shot a 312 on Saturday at Greystone Golf Club in Sauk Centre and then went seven strokes better for a 305 at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club in Sartell on Sunday.

For the second time in three meets, junior Tyler Champ was the low Cobber at the invite. Champ shot a 79 on Saturday and then improved by four shots on Sunday and finished with a 79-75=154. That score was good for a tie for 19th place. Senior Zach Kappes went low on Saturday and shot a 75. After the first day he was tied for ninth place in the individual standings. Kappes slipped to an 80 on Sunday and was one shot behind Champ at 155. Pat Deitz and Jordie Siverson rounded out the Cobber top 4 for the tournament. Both players shot 156 but took different routes to get there. Deitz shot a consistent 78-78 while Siverson shot 80 on Saturday but then rebounded to shoot 76 on Sunday.

Concordia will travel to Wisconsin next weekend to compete in the Macalester/Bethel Invite at Troy Burne Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
