Even Games Propel Cobbers! | ||||||||||||||||||
MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/29/09)-- Concordia saved their best for the second and fourth games against Macalester and cruised to a 3-1 (28-26, 25-13, 22-25, 25-12) win over the Scots in Moorhead on Tuesday. The Cobbers earned their ninth consecutive win over Macalester and moved to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in league play. The Scots are now 6-9 in all matches and 0-3 in league play. Concordia bolted out of the gates in the opening game and looked like they would get a lopsided win to start the match. The Scots were able to rebound late in the opener and took a 24-23 lead but then watched as CC scored five of the next seven points to come away with the win. The Cobbers hit .384 for the match as compared to .142 for the Scots. Macalester had 95 digs and 28 assists in the four games. Concordia will head to the annual Minnesota/Iowa Border Battle this weekend. The Cobbers will play Simpson and Wartburg on Friday and then finish with Loras and Central on Saturday. All matches will be played in Dubuque, Iowa at Loras College.
