MOORHEAD, Minn. (09/13/10)--Concordia junior outside hitter Jenna Green was named the MIAC Hitter of the Week it was announced on Monday by the league office. Green has led the team in kills and digs in helping the Cobbers go 5-1 on the season.
It marks the second time in her career that she has earned Hitter of the Week honors. She also won the award in her freshman season on Oct. 13. She becomes the first Cobber to earn Player of the Week honors since the 2008 season.
In Concordia's first six matches of the season, Green is averaging 4.00 kills per set and has a solid .284 attack percentage. She also has 82 digs over that time and is averaging 4.10 digs per set. Green has led the team in kills in all six matches and has been the team leader in digs in three of the team's first six matches.
Green was named to the UW-Eau Claire Invite All-Tournament Team as she helped the Cobbers post a tourney-best 3-1 record. In the final match of the tournament she helped CC beat No.7-ranked Carthage 3-0 as she had a team-high 13 kills to go along with 14 digs.
