COON RAPIDS, Minn. (10/04/10)-- Concordia steadily improved throughout all three days at the MIAC Championship Meet and finished with a final team score of 1154. After improving by 14 strokes from Saturday to Sunday, CC trimmed three more strokes off on Monday and finished in ninth place.

The Cobbers were led by sophomore Laura Ayers who finished with a final total of 273 and placed 27th at the meet. She fired a second-round score of 86 on Sunday which tied for the low round of the season by any CC golfer. Her final total was seven shots better than her total from 2009 as a freshman. She also improved by seven places at the meet.

Concordia saved their best for last as they fired a team total of 378 on Monday. That was the team's third lowest round of the season.

A pair of Cobber golfers finished right behind Ayers. Senior Jenna Kratzke was in 34th place as she finished with a 281 and freshman Emily Frosaker was 37th - five shots back - at 286. For Kratzke it was her lowest score at a conference meet in her career.
