Luck Number Seven! | ||
MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/20/09)-- After a month of being ranked in the top 25 of the nation, Concordia has finally cracked the top 10. The Cobbers, one of only three undefeated and untied teams in all of NCAA Division III, climbed all the way to the No.7 spot in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) national Poll. It is the first time in program history they have been ranked in the top 10. Concordia is currently 14-0-0 in 2009, and along with Trinity (Tex.) and Williams (Mass.) are the only teams among the 414 that make up NCAA Division III women's soccer without a blemish. Trinity is ranked fourth in the latest national poll and Williams is currently the No.1-ranked team in the country. The Cobbers, who were ranked 14th in last week's poll, are also ranked first in the North Region poll. They are one of five MIAC teams ranked in the top 10 of the poll. St. Thomas is currently ranked third along with St. Olaf (5th), Macalester (7th) and Carleton (T10th). Concordia beat Hamline and UW-Eau Claire last week. The Cobbers posted a 3-0 win over the Pipers and then blanked the Blugolds 4-0 in Eau Claire on Sunday. Eau Claire is tied for 10th with Carleton in the latest North region rankings.
