The Power Bowl - Concordia vs Moorhead St.
NCAA Football, Sept. 2, 2000
Sponsored by Moorhead Public Service and Missouri River Energy Services.

The 2000 Power Bowl, the 78th meeting between Concordia and MSU-Moorhead, sponsored by Moorhead Public Service and Missouri River Energy Services.  Our Power Bowl sponsors, in addition to their contributions to the Concordia general scholarship fund and the MSU Athletic Scholarship fund, are sponsoring several awards in connection with this game.

"Power Surge of the Game"
A "Power Surge of the Game" award, along with a $500 donation to scholarships, will be presented to the team that turns in the best play of the game. MSU-Moorhead punter Cory Schmidgall turned in the play of the game on Saturday when he boomed a 77 yard punt with 2:20 left in the 2nd quarter.

Most "Electrifying Players of the Game"
Plaques will be awarded to the game's most Electrifying Offensive Player and Electrifying Defensive
Player. The most Electrtrifying Offensive Player went to the Dragon's running back Justin Ellevold. He rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored, what proved to be, the decisive point by adding the extra point on the MSU-Moorhead's last toucdown in the fourth quarter. The Most Electrifying Defensive Player went to Concordia's Dan Tollefson (Sr., Madison MN, Lac Qui Parle Valley H.S.).
Tollefson had two interceptions in the game and also combined for five tackles.

"Touchdowns for Charity"
Power Bowl sponsors Moorhead Public Service and Missouri River Energy Services will present a $100
check to a charity chosen by the scoring team for each touchdown. Concordia has chosen Habitat for Humanity as the recipient of their donation, and MSU-Moorhead will be playing for The Roger Maris Foundation.

"Power Bowl Traveling Trophy"
The presentation of the Power Bowl Traveling Trophy to the winning team will take place in front of the stadium stands immediately after the game.
