Sara Spears Sr., Spicer, MN Scored a game-high 21 points in Concordia's 84-72 loss to St. Thomas.

Concordia had a two-point lead with 3:41 left in the game and appeared to be on the verge of beating St. Thomas for the first time in 15 tries, but then the roof caved in and the Tommies finished with a 16-2 run to win the game 84-72.

Concordia (14-4, 16-5) erased an 11 point deficit at the start of the game to take a 40-32 lead into halftime. St. Thomas (15-2, 18-2) slowly climbed back into the game and took the lead back at the 10:51 mark when Sarah Grudnowski sank two free throws. Over the next four minute the Tommies would hammer the lead back to seven before the Cobbers went on a late-game run of their own. The Cobbers cut into the margin behind  the inside play of Sara Spears (Sr., Spicer, MN) and Kasey Bostow (So., Fargo, ND). With 3:52 left to play Spears hit two free throws to give Concordia their last lead of the game at 70-68. The next three-plus minutes turned into nightmare on Summit Avenue for the Cobbers, as they couldn't get a stop on defense and couldn't find the basket on offense. St. Thomas scored nine straight before Spears scored the only two points for Concordia in the last three minutes.

Sara Spears led all scorers in the game with 21 points. Sarah Jacobson (Sr., Fargo, ND) pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Concordia turned the ball over 22 time in the game. St. Thomas  was led by sarah Grudnowski with 18 points and Missy Pederson who added 15.

Concordia will have the weekend off before traveling to St. Mary's on Monday. The Cobbers have three games left in the regular season before starting the MIAC playoff tournament.
