12/09 Concordia Storms Back to Beat St. Thomas 9-6.
Concordia found themselves down 2-0 only 58 seconds into the game, however the Cobbers regrouped and stormed back to score six straight goals in the remaining 19 minutes of the period. That sudden offensive explosion enabled the Cobbers to post a 9-6 victory over previously unbeaten St. Thomas. The Tommies, winners of their last three and six of the first seven, came into the game with a perfect 4-0 record in the MIAC. After they scored two very quick goals it looked as if that unbeaten record would reamain intact. However, a funny thing happened on the way to the final buzzer, Concordia recaptured their scoring touch and erupted for nine goals. That output matches their largest total of the season and is the most ever scored by a Concordia team in a MIAC contest. The heroes for Concordia were a  pair of Arizona natives who ended up turning December in St. Paul into July in Arizona. Katie Jacques (So., Tempe, AZ) and Lindsay Kurtis (Fr., Phoenix, AZ) each scored three goals and added one assist. Sophomore goaltender Shyla Wilson (Cohasset, MN) made 35 saves to help Concordia to their second MIAC win of the season.

The Cobbers are now 2-5 in the MIAC and 4-5 overall while St. Thomas stumbles to 4-1 in league play and 6-2 overall. The two teams will play again tomorrow at 3:00 at Parade Ice Arena.
