Katie Martin  So. Bozeman, MT. Bears down at the MIAC Championships. She finished 4th in the 3000 and 6th in the 5000.

3/3 Concordia Finishes Second at MIAC Championship Meet.
For the second consecutive year Concordia finished second at the MIAC Indoor Championship Meet. The Distance Medley Relay team of  Heather Brenden (Sr., Minot, ND), Whitney Ostrem (Sr., Roseville, MN), Kendra Lee (So., Jamestown, ND) and Heidi Brenden (Sr., Minot, ND) set a new MIAC Meet record and won the event by over 25 seconds to lead the Cobbers to a strong runner-up finish. The Cobbers amassed 120 points, and edged out Gustavus by six points for the second spot. Concordia has now finished first or second for four consecutive years.

The victory in the Distance Medley Relay was the only event win for Concordia who amassed their points by their strong showings in every event. The middle distance and distance events coninued to help the Cobbers as they had a "top six" finish from the 200 meters all the way up throught the 5000 meters. Besides participating in the MIAC winning relay team, Whitney Ostrem finished fifth in the 200 and second in the 400.

Other top finishers for Concordia were Sara Grineski (Sr., Moorhead, MN) who finished second in the 55 Meter Hurdles with a of 8.52, which provisionally qualifies her for nationals. Heidi Brendan provisionally qualified for nationals in the 1500 with a time of 4:43.24 which was good for third place, while sister Heather finished fourth in the event. Mariah Mougey (So., Enderlin, ND) and Becky Lacher (Jr., Princeton, MN) finished second and third in the Weight Throw, and Angie Strom (Sr., Brandon, MN) finished third in the High Jump.
