Cobbers Start MIAC Season With 2-1 Victory Over St. Kate's.
Concordia scored a goal in each half, and withstood a late flurry by St. Kate's to claim a 2-1 victory in the opening game of the MIAC season for the Cobbers.

Senior Kirsten Anderson's (Brainerd, Minn.) goal with just under 10 minutes to played proved to be the game winner as she headed in a rebound after junior forward Kendra Lee (Jr., Jamestown, N.Dak.) had hit the cross bar with a close range shot. The Wildcats scored on a turnover with five minutes to go when Sarah Purdy collected a ball from 30 yards out and hammered a shot just under the crossbar. Concordia's defense held the Wildcat offense at bay and the Cobbers collected their fourth win of the season and first in the MIAC. Goalkeeper Kathy Braun (Sr., Willmar, Minn.) recorded eight saves for the win. St. Kate's goalie Kristen Ross stopped 10 shots. Concordia out shot the Wildcats 11-10 for the game.

The Cobbers are now 4-1 on the year and will host cross-town rival MSU-Moorhead on Wednesday, September 20th at 4:00pm.
