Kendra Lee Jr. Jamestown, N. Dak. Scored Concordia's lone goal in their 4-1 defeat to Gustavus.

Cobbers Allow 3 Second Half Goals and Fall to Gustavus 4-1.
Concordia allowed three second half goals and dropped their first MIAC game of the year to visiting Gustavus 4-1. The Gusties (1-1, 3-4) scored goals in the first five minutes of each half to establish early leads and keep the Cobbers (1-1, 4-3) in their defensive end.

Michelle Kurtz scored from a short corner kick at 4:56 to give Gustavus an early 1-0 lead. After Concordia weathered several Gustie attacks the Cobbers evened the score at 19:47 when junior Kendra Lee (Jamestown, N.Dak.) was sent behind the Gustavus defense on a pass from Haley Groce (So., Sheridan, Wyom.) and slid the ball past Gustie goalie Linnea Carlson at the 19:47 mark. The teams continued to play scoreless soccer for the remaining 25 minutes and the game was tied at one at the break.

After halftime Gustavus again struck quickly when Renee Beaudry's shot deflected off a defender and trickled into the side of the goal with only 2:41 gone in the period. Beaudry scored her second goal of the game at 55:57 and Heather Pecosky finished the scoring at 72:38.

Gustavus out shot Concordia 29-5 in the game and Cobber keeper Kathy Braun (Sr., Willmar, Minn.) made 14 saves in the losing effort. Gustavus goalie Linnea Carlson made four saves on the day.

Concordia will have two days off before traveling to Minneapolis to play Augsburg on Wednesday, September 26th at 4:00. Gustavus' next contest will also be on the 26th when they host St. Mary's at 4:00.
