Cobbers Can't Stop the Gusties, Lose 92-78.
Concordia couldn't stop the outside shooting ability of Gustavus in the second half, gave up a record-setting 59 points in the frame and lost 92-78. The Gusties shot 71 percent from the field (20-for-28), including 5-for-7 from behind the 3-point arc in the second half. The 59 points scored on the Cobbers is the most points ever allowed by a Concordia women's basketball team in one half in an MIAC contest. The 92 total points also sets a record for most points allowed in an MIAC game.

Four different players scored in double figures for Concordia (9-9, 9-12). Kasey Bostow (Jr., Fargo, N.Dak.) put up a game-high 22 points, Mandy Pearson (Fr., Watkins, Minn.) had 12, Mandy Berggren (Sr., Cokato, Minn.) pitched in 11 and Trisha Steinborn (So., Jamestown, N.Dak.) added 10. It is the fifth time this season that the Cobbers have had four players score more than 10 points in a game. Debbie Slack (So., Evansville, Minn.) was held under 10 rebounds for the first time in five games, as she finished with seven. Slack only played 19 minutes, as she was hampered by foul trouble and fouled out with just under five minutes to go in the game. Angie Peterson scored 21 points to lead the Gusties. All nine players that played for Gustavus (14-4, 15-6) scored at least three points.

For the game, Concordia shot 46 percent (27-for-58) compared to 56 percent for Gustavus (33-for-58). The Cobbers committed 23 turnovers in the game and Gustavus coughed the ball up 17 times in the error-prone game.

Concordia will host co-league leader St. Thomas on Wednesday, February 6th at 5:30. Gustavus will host Macalester on the same day at 7:30.
