Cobbers Fall to Luther 3-0.

Concordia had several in-close opportunities in the first half, were unable to capitalize and ended up being blanked by Luther 3-0.
The Cobbers conceded the lone goal of the opening frame at the 26 minute mark. The two teams then traded chances before going to the intermission with the Norse holding the slim 1-0 margin. Concordia's best chances came off the foot of Kendra Lee (Jamestown, N.Dak.), who narrowly missed two breakaway opportunities.
In the second half, Luther whittled away at Concordia's defense and scored on a misdirected Cobber clearing volley just four minutes into the period and then converted on a penalty kick in the 57th minute. Concordia was unable to get on the board during the final minutes of play, and has now gone 226 consecutive minutes without scoring a goal.
Luther held the edge in shots for the game 12-4, as most of the play was focused in the middle of the field. Concordia goalie Kathy Braun (Sr., Willmar, Minn.) made eight saves in the game, while her counterpart Michelle Edelmann turned aside all four Cobber shots on net.
Braun, and defenders Carmelle Johnson (So., Northridge, Cali.) and Kara Parsons (Eden Prairie, Minn.), all were selected the the Luther Classic All-Tournament team.
Concordia has almost a week and a half break before their next game. The Cobbers will open MIAC play by hosting St. Kate's on Wednesday, September 18th at 4:00pm.
