STILLWATER -- Concordia
started the final day of the Twin Cities Classic in 13th place, and at
the end of the final round they remained in 13th place.
The Cobbers shot a 319 on
the final day of the tournament and finished the three-day event with a
final team score of 949 (308-322-319). St. Cloud State won the meet with
a final score of 904 (300-305-299).
The good news for Troy Odegaard's
team is that they overtook conference foe Augsburg over the course of the
final 18 holes. Concordia finished fourth among MIAC schools that participated
in the tournament. This will help the Cobbers as they prepare for next
weekend's MIAC Championship Meet.(More)

Drew Dvorak Named MIAC
Co-Golfer of the Week!
Concordia freshman golfer
Drew
Dvorak (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield HS) was named the MIAC Co-Golfer
of the Week for his performance at the Carleton Invitational this past
weekend.
Dvorak notched his first
“top five” finish in his career by placing third at the Carleton Invitational
over the weekend. Dvorak carded a 152 (76-76) total and was only three
strokes off the medalist score.
Dvorak shares the award with
Kyle
Fredrickson of St. John's who finished in 2nd place at the UW-Eau-Claire
invite with a three-over par, 145 total. Fredrickson helped the Johnnies
finish first overall at the invite. |

NORTHFIELD-- Concordia couldn't
hold their day 1 lead and fell into a tie for third place in the final
results at the Carleton Invitational. The Cobbers, who only had one player
shoot in the 70's on the deciding day of the tournament, shot a team total
of 323 after opening the event with a 313. Concordia's final score of 636
was 15 shots behind meet champion Gustavus.
Cobber freshman
Drew Dvorak (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield HS), suddenly thrust into
the role of the team's number one golfer, responded to the challenge by
firing identical scores of 76 (152) and finished tied for third in the
individual competition.(More)

Erv Kaiser Invitational.

Results
FARGO, N.D.-- Fighting extremely
windy conditions and simmering heat, Concordia tumbled to 11th place at
the Erv Kaiser Invitational hosted by North Dakota State University. A
pair of Cobber individual golfers were able to battle through the wind
and finish in the top 15. North Dakota State won the team title, finishing
with a team score of 923 - forty strokes better than the Cobbers.
Concordia was led by freshman
Drew Dvork (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield HS), who fired three rounds
in the 70's and finished 10th with a final total of 232 (74-79-79).
Junior Mike Lundberg (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS)
finished in a tie for 14th at 234 (77-75-82). His final round of 82 prevented
him from cracking the top 10 for the first time this season. Lundberg was
in a tie for fourth place after the second round completed early on Sunday. |

Cobbers Struggle in Lumberjack

- Individual Team Results
(BEMIDJI)-- Concordia was
unable to make a move in the second day of the Bemidji State Invitational
and finished in 12th place. The Cobbers shot a team score of 312, three
shots more than their opening round score of 309.
Mike Lundberg (Jr.,
White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) slid all the way from a tie
for fourth place after day one to 11th place in the final individual standings.
Lundberg followed up his 71 on Sunday with an uninspiring 77 on Monday.
He all Cobber golfers at the meet. Carl Hunt (Sr., Crookston, Minn./Crookston
HS) shot the best round of the day for Concordia, as he fired a 74 and
finished in a tie for 25th at 151 (77-74).(More)

Cobbers Capture Fourth
at Concordia Invitational.

(MOORHEAD)--Concordia placed
two individual golfers in the top 10 of the tournament and finished fourth
in the team competition at the Concordia Invitational held at The Meadows
Golf Club in Moorhead. The Cobbers finished with a team score of 306, 18
shots of the lead.
The University of Manitoba
won the team tournament. Playing as an exhibition team, the Bison had all
five players shoot under 77 and finished with a total of 288, 11 shots
better than North Dakota State, who finished second with a score of 299.
Justin
Cross from the University of North Dakota and Neil Rude from
Bemidji State claimed medalist honors by carding identical 68's.
Carl Hunt (Sr., Crookston,
Minn./Crookston HS) and Mike Lundberg (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn./White
Bear Lake HS) picked up where they left off in 2003 by leading the Cobbers.
The pair led Concordia in all six of their meets in 2003 and opened the
2004 season by doing the same. Hunt opened with a 36 on the front side
before falling off and firing a 39 on his final nine holes to finish with
a 75. Lundberg played a more consistent round, shooting 37 on the front
and 38 on the back. Both golfers were locked in a five-way tie for ninth
